Despite working in the beauty industry for the last 10 years, I’m not that confident or experimental with hair and makeup – I’m much better at health and skincare. For this reason, finding a hair and makeup artist for my wedding was one of the most time consuming and stressful things about the whole wedding. After many a late night scouring blogs, Instagram, and Google, I came across the award winning makeup artist and hair stylist Tamara Tott. I loved the mix of classic bridal and high fashion editorials that she had across her websites. I couldn’t have been happier with my hair and makeup on my wedding day, so I have enlisted her help to bring you this season’s latest and most versatile bridal beauty trends.
I met up with a lot of my 2017 couples last week and some of their ideas have blown me away! I can’t wait to start creating them! Their happiness is my happiness when I create the day of their dreams, so I’m working hard designing some moodboards for them this week to get the ball rolling. This helps us visualise their day and ensure we’re on the same page creatively, but it’s also a great tool to illustrate our ideas to suppliers.
Save the Date! There’s an exciting and exclusive pop up coming to East London, and it falls over a good weekend to visit the capital if you’ve got a wedding to plan. This pop up, ‘The Aussie Bridal Salon’, will run from Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th March in the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green. In addition, the coveted Chosen Wedding Fair is the 5th March, and there’s also The London Bridal Show on the same weekend. Even though the latter is a trade only exhibition for buyers, there’s guaranteed to be a bridal buzz around the city. A great opportunity for a hen party or weekend away with your mum amid your planning journey.
I was working nonstop over Christmas, so I had some time off after new year and now I’m back to share some wedding research and adventures from Nigeria!
After a crazy Christmas and new year spread over 3 different countries, I arrived back in London to a beautiful package from the team at Bride to Be Boxes that I’m excited to share with you!
Wow! What a year! The photo below from my wedding in April sums it up for me – ‘do what you love’. Unintentionally, 2016 was the year of Me. My wedding (my baby) and my blog (my passion) took over my life, in a good way. I started a new married life, I started a business, and I started doing what I loved. I started really enjoying myself, and I couldn’t stop. Suddenly, things that I would fret over in the past seemed insignificant. I simply didn’t have time anymore. I was on such a serious mission of (unintentionally) doing what I loved, I even quit my job!
