A Most Curious Wedding Fair 2017

A Most Curious Wedding Fair 2017 took over the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane last week – and it was so good I went twice!

I was invited to the press evening on Friday for the opening, but unfortunately I couldn’t make it due to unforeseen St Patrick’s day celebrations… So I popped along on Saturday with some of the London Wedding Breakfast Club (LWBC) crew, a networking group for wedding suppliers to connect and generally support each other.  However, as I was with Lex Fleming (of Fleming Photo) who organizes the LWBC and who knows everyone in the industry, we just ended up chatting to everyone there and I never actually got any ‘work’ done!  So I had to go back on Sunday (alone, with no distractions!) so I could whizz around and take photos and notes for blogging!  It was worth it to go around again to be honest, as there’s so much to see, do, and taste!  (Thank goodness it’s only 5 tube stops away from Devine Bride HQ though!)

I was encouraged into the industry this time last year by going to Most Curious; it seemed so relevant and real compared to a lot of the other fairs I had trawled through when I was getting married.  It was local suppliers (East London), with different ideas.  I loved it.

In its own words:  ‘A Most Curious Wedding Fair is the bridal event for the expressive, style savvy, design-loving and fashion-forward couple in the London & Norwich region’.

The theme for 2017 was Pinktopia and Electric Dreams.  And this year was bigger and better, and some of the stands were just unreal.  Here’s a run through:

Going in… the entrance, good vibes only!  Plants by Geo-Fleur, pink neon hoop (similar to the neon heart above by Vowed and Amazed)
by The Curious Collection:

Décor (and selfie wall) by Pop Pop Papier:

Beautiful and intricate cake design by Claire Owen Cakes:

Animalesque - Illustrated, Screen printed and handmade costumes and accessories, by Sara Lowes, how fun!

Rosie from Brolly Bucket, umbrella hire on demand, with some sales support from her hubby:

Frog Flowers!  Love the name, and the display!

Light Up Letters by Locke & Busby, bespoke and handmade:

The catwalk and stage in the theme of the wedding fair, Pinktopia and Electric Dreams;
pink neon hoops by The Curious Collection:

Had to put this one in!  My own wedding DJ was there!  Discowed – we never stopped dancing all night at my wedding so I can definitely vouch for them:

Maid of Gingerbread – a personal favourite (everything here is made from gingerbread, in case you hadn’t clocked that already…!):

Rustic cakes by Lucie Bennett Patissier – fruit and flowers on point, I love this look, so modern:

More cake!  This time of the marbled and naked variety by Blossom & Crumb – yum!

Walk this way…. More...

And some more cake!!  These beauties are by Rania of The Custom Cake Boutique.  The dramatic one with red roses was for a Beauty and the Beast wedding!  She’s absolutely nailed it!

To finish…

Ice cream cart by Darlish - The Persian Creamery; after so much cake this was so refreshing!  (Although they do chic desserts, too.)  My fav flav was the Orange Blossom and Pistachio – winner:

So much to see, so much to taste!  So inspired again, already can’t wait for next year!

Happy pinning… hopefully I’ll be one of the stands that's featured next year.
