Bride Beauty - Cucumber Eye Pads

If you’ve never used eye pads before, these are a must in the lead up to your wedding.  I would recommend these as a simple relaxation treat, combined with a high performance eye cream to combat tired eyes.  My eyes feel drained at the end of the week from staring at a computer screen all day long in work, but eye pads really help to make me feel more energised.

Like in my first Bride Beauty article, always try new beauty products out a minimum of 2 months before your wedding in case you have any adverse skin reactions to them, and so you can get used to using them.

Cucumber has an abundance of antioxidants, which is good for anti-aging, and naturally contains ascorbic acid and caffeic acid, which is good for relieving water retention and general puffiness.

Cucumber has always been a classic skin care ingredient, but here are some new releases:

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Detox De-puffing Eye Cubes

RRP £34

Stash these cucumber Detox De-puffing Eye Cubes in the freezer before putting into the soft pouch for application to your eyes to fight puffiness.  Sephora quotes, ‘Intense cold works to constrict blood vessels to help reduce puffiness and swelling’.

Ingredients include a soothing blend of cucumber, arnica, green tea, chamomile, aloe, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid.

The packaging (and the price) make this product seem like a real luxury, so keep this until the weekend or the end of the month for a treat.

-Includes 6 eye cubes.

Dirty Works Cucumber Eye Pads

RRP £4

To soothe and relieve tired eyes, the pads are pre moistened with a soothing and cooling formula, and are the ultimate remedy for puffiness and dark circles (or a hangover).  Unlike the eye cubes above, it’s not necessary to pop them in the fridge or the freezer, but I would definitely recommend it.

Ingredients include aloe vera and cooling cucumber extract.

Fun packaging, and the pads are designed to look like slices of cucumber – they’re really cute.  These are an absolute steal for the price.

-Includes 10 pairs of eye pads.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Makeup Remover Pads
RRP £1.50

These aren’t newly released but are an old favourite of mine.  I often find taking my makeup off a bit of a chore, so I turn it into something more relaxing and pampering to make it more fun.  I store the pot of remover pads in the fridge as standard, and at night when taking my makeup off, I start by gently pressing a pad onto each eye and lie down for a few minutes.  As these are eye makeup remover pads, the solution they are soaked in is slightly oily, so a gentle press on the eye lids will melt away all make up within moments.  This means when you are ready, eye makeup easily comes off in 2 swipes, and you have revived yet relaxed eyes in the process!

Ingredients include extracts of cucumber.

Bargain basement stuff with this one, but the old ones are the best.

-Includes 40 pads (20 pairs).
